万发圣，旅居美国著名音乐家、声乐教育家，1954年生于香港。1974年进入加拿大皇家音乐学院学习深造。1984年获音乐硕士及博士衔。1986年任职于美国茱莉亚音乐学院，

  先后担任讲师、副教授、教授、博士生导师。他曾多次赴加拿大、澳大利亚、捷克斯洛伐克、日本等国家访问，并多次担任格莱美音乐赛事活动评委。

1996年，原创(Love to the) 获加拿大最权威“格兰.歌德新人奖”；

1998年，原创（Every minute with love）获美国最权威“格文美尔古典作曲大奖”；

1999年， 原创（We are a family on earth）获日本《Record Geijutsu》“当代最佳唱片奖”；                                    

2000年，被美国音乐协会(Musical America)评其为“年度最佳作曲家”。
